Rising Spanish Motocross Star Enzo Badenas, 17, Dies in Training Accident
A tragic incident has claimed the life of Enzo Badenas, a promising 17-year-old motocross rider from Spain. Badenas died on December 7, 2025, during a private training session at the Red Sand Park circuit in Castellon, eastern Spain. His unexpected death occurred just three days after he celebrated his father’s birthday with a heartfelt message expressing his gratitude and love.
Badenas had established himself as a key member of the Spanish national motocross team after winning the Spanish 85cc championship in 2022. He had been competing in the EMX125 Championship throughout the 2025 season, showcasing his talent and determination on the track.
The Specialised Centre for Motorsport Training (CETDM), located at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Cheste near Valencia, released a statement confirming the tragic news. The statement noted, “We mourn the death of Enzo Badenas, a motocross rider born in Gandia in the province of Valencia on January 24, 2008. Badenas suffered a serious accident while training privately.”
Badenas joined the CETDM in 2023 after achieving significant success, including multiple podium finishes and victories. His growth as an athlete was marked by his selection for the Spanish Motocross Team, participating in various regional, national, and international competitions such as the European Championship. The CETDM expressed deep sadness over his passing, offering condolences to his family, friends, and teammates during this difficult time.
Motocross enthusiasts and fans have taken to social media to express their grief and support for Badenas’s family. One fan shared, “The worst news you can hear about a motorcycle rider. Rest in peace. A big hug to his family and friends.” Another supporter wrote, “I’m lost for words. You’ll always be in my heart, Enzo.”
The regional government of Valencia also issued a statement on social media, expressing their sorrow over the loss of the young rider. “We deeply regret the death of the young Valencian motorcycle rider Enzo Badenas at the age of just 17,” the statement read.
One of Badenas’s last social media posts was a tribute to his father, Rafael, on his birthday. In a touching message, he expressed appreciation for his father’s unwavering support in pursuing his dreams. “Today is the birthday of one of the most important people in my life and one of the people I love most,” he wrote. “Despite those good and bad times, I thank God for being able to experience them by your side. You can’t imagine what a good father you are and how proud I am of you. Happy birthday, Dad. I love you.”
The motocross community continues to mourn the loss of a talented athlete whose potential was just beginning to be realized. As tributes pour in, Badenas’s legacy will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of those who knew him and the many who admired his journey in the sport.
